“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award encourages personal development and community service involvement for young people. The programme has Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards and is open to all young people between the ages of 14 and 25. Participants achieve the Award by attaining established goals in the areas of Community Service, Skill Development, Physical Fitness and Expeditions. You can learn more by going to www.dukeofed.org
Many young people find that the expedition element of the award is something that they need help with. We are happy to go into schools to deliver a preliminary training. We are also more than happy to work with schools to plan and help guide expeditions at all levels—Bronze through to Gold. Canoe trips are our specialty; however we are open to working with you on hiking trips, biking trips and other ideas that you may have.
Unfortunately we are not an organization that is able to help individuals with their expeditions. We have found in the past that it is too challenging for us to piece together small trips. You must have a group (ideally not less than 18 students—so we can run two travelling groups or more) in order for us to plan customized trips for you.
Please be in touch with us to book a preliminary training at your school, or to discuss a customized expedition.
