Costa Rica set the stage for true immersion in nature and daily life vastly different from Canada. The students from St Mildred’s-Lightbourn School spent 7 days exploring this magnificent country by land, water and air. The group experienced the natural beauty by hiking to the Rio Celeste Waterfall, balancing on the Hanging Bridges, and flying through the rainforest canopy via ziplines. During the trip, the group gained deeper knowledge of Costa Rica while spending time in the Maleku Indigenous Territory, preparing food for the animals at the ASIS Wildlife Rescue Center and enjoying a cultural presentation before playing games with students from Linda Vista. Invaluable information shared by and with local partners ensured that this ALIVE Global Learning Program offered countless moments for every individual to reflect upon. Muchas gracias, Costa Rica, PURA VIDA!
