Anthony Russwurm

Program Coordinator of Camps and Global Learning

There’s something about his energy — grounded, genuine, warm, and full of life — that makes everyone around him want to show up as their best self. A seasoned outdoor educator who brings heart, adventure, and a whole lot of fun to everything he does. From camp counselor to program director and curriculum creator, he has spent years helping people discover just how strong and capable they really are.

Earning a diploma in Recreation and Leisure from Conestoga College contributed to what is now a diverse resume in teaching. Anthony joins the full-time team after guiding a wide range of outdoor experiences, from winter survival to white-water paddling to directing and designing high school credit adventure programs.  In all environments, his dedication to helping people grow is palpable. Whether on land, water, or supporting someone in a harness above him, Anthony’s calm energy and sense of fun make people feel instantly welcome and supported.

We are fortunate to have Anthony’s love for adventure-based learning, signature warmth, and commitment to experiential education as part of the ALIVE full-time team. Whether mentoring staff, collaborating with schools, or facilitating experiences in the field, Anthony approaches each opportunity with professionalism and a belief in the transformative power of shared adventure and time outside.

When he’s not working with ALIVE, you can find Anthony paddling on the river, climbing, or exploring all corners of the city for new and diverse foods.
