Our Full Time Team is Growing

This year, ALIVE Outdoors celebrates 25 years. A journey built on a simple, enduring truth: learning through experience changes lives. We have built an incredible foundation together, and while we enjoy taking time to rest, we just can’t back down from the palpable momentum, our loved community, and the critically important work that we do. Whether we’re at camp, on a canoe trip, in the city streets, or exploring a new country, we often find ourselves humbly reflecting on where we’ve been and dreaming about where we are going next. What we know to be true is that the world is bursting with complexity, and to keep our programs meaningful, high-quality, and relevant, we need more brains — and more heart.

We are thrilled to announce that we have welcomed two exceptional educators to our full-time team as Program Coordinators of Camps and Global Learning.  Anthony Russwurm and Adrienne Sultana both come from extensive backgrounds in education.  They are full of heart, talent, and the energy we need to continue to light up our world. We could not be more grateful that they have made the bold choice to put down roots in Toronto to help us expand ALIVE’s impact. Believing strongly in experiential program design and living life with purpose and joy, we know that these interesting and hard-working individuals are ready to jump into the weeds with us.

You’ll learn more about them soon, but here’s a little ode to these two well-deserving humans.

Adrienne Sultana

Meet Adrienne. As past part-time Program Development Specialist and Lead Facilitator at ALIVE, Adrienne has a well-developed track record of helping us level up. She has brought many ALIVE programs to life in the camp setting and was part of the team that facilitated our first Global Learning program in Vietnam. She is laser-focused, playful, and loves to laugh. When an opportunity comes along that aligns with her values, Adrienne doesn’t tiptoe—she leaps.  This courageous quality makes her a valuable mentor to both students and instructors. She also runs her own yoga business, a unique skill set that helps bring the lens of breathwork and balance to our programs. Her unique facilitation touches offer lessons to all of us.

Anthony Russwurm
Meet Anthony (aka Teddy or Tony). There’s something about his energy — grounded, genuine, warm, and full of life — that makes everyone around him want to show up as their best self. A seasoned outdoor educator who brings heart, adventure, and a whole lot of fun to everything he does. From camp counsellor to program director and curriculum creator, he’s spent years helping people discover just how strong and capable they really are. There is no doubt in our minds that his character will bring a new spark of energy and perspective to our full-time team. He is steady, calm, and joyful. Yet beneath this ease lies a fierce dedication to his work that always draws people in.  If you haven’t met him yet, you are in for a treat!
