We’re so thrilled to begin the Morocco 2025 Global Learning program with RSGC.
The RSGC students and teachers arrived in Marrakech, Morocco, after a long day of travel from Toronto to Paris, Paris to Marrakech. Although it took a while to arrive, the anticipation and excitement were palpable as the students took their first steps out of the airport and into the warm evening air of Morocco. With lots of smiles, hugs and introductions, we took a short drive to our Riad. After a quick meeting, we settled in for the night to get some well-deserved rest before beginning our trip.
In true Moroccan style, we began day two with breakfast on the rooftop. The amazing assortment of breads, fruits, juices, teas and eggs was a welcome treat to fuel us for the journey ahead. We followed breakfast with an orientation meeting, officially welcoming the students and going over all the details for what lies ahead. We discussed the diversity of food, social practices, languages, and history of Morocco, while also addressing a long list of questions and providing resources to ensure everyone is set up for success.
After lunch, we’re leaving Marrakech behind and heading to the mountain village of Tizi-N’oucheg, nestled along the mountains of the High Atlas. We’ll be learning about village life, engaging with a variety of community members and the community village association. The community association leads a number of projects on infrastructure and recreation to improve the village and support the people, helping to provide opportunities and strengthen wellbeing. Stay tuned as we’ll have more updates coming!
