Royal St. George’s College – Gr.5, 6 & 8 – ALIVE Outdoors – Winter 2025

Thank you to the Royal St. George’s College Grade 5, 6 & 8 students, senior leaders, and faculty for an incredible program. The conditions could not have been better to set the stage for all of the winter activities and fun these students embarked on this past week. On top of experiencing new winter activities such as cross-country skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, and broomball, the Gr.8 students strengthened cross-grade connections as they helped to facilitate many of the activities for the Gr.5 & 6 students. The power of community was truly illustrated this week through the care, engagement, and support these students expressed. Good luck throughout the rest of the school year and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Branksome Hall – Rowing & Winter Skills – ALIVE Outdoors – Winter 2025

Another amazing year together with the Branksome Rowing Crew and the Quinzee Team. The snow was plentiful, spirits were high and both groups gave the weekend events all their energy.  The rowing team skied endlessly, snowshoed across the lake to the ice wall, sang their hearts out, cooked up a storm, had a broomball tournie and the list goes on!  We wish you all well as you head to BC and get out on the water!!   For the “Winter Skills” team, the piles of the snow went up quickly for the quinzees. By the time they were dug out, everyone was excited (and a little apprehensive) about sleeping out! Once they emerged from their quinzees on Sunday morning their pride was palpable. A great weekend was had by all, and we can’t wait until next year!  Thanks to the coaches and teachers that always support this weekend. Much appreciation.

The Bishop Strachan School – Winter Wonder & Skills – ALIVE Outdoors – Winter 2025

The Grade 9s thrived with their cookouts and their snowshoe day trip. These opportunities allowed them to explore together and forge lasting memories.

Greenwood College School – Gr.10 – ALIVE Outdoors – Winter 2025

Thank you to the Greenwood College School Grade 10 students and teachers for an incredible week together in the snow. These students truly experienced a winter wonderland, taking advantage of the conditions to build quinzees, refresh their skills in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, dive into some snow science, and push their level of personal challenge with high ropes. The care, support, and engagement these students expressed was fantastic. They truly took on the theme of the week, personal challenge, by supporting and encouraging each other to take part in the quinzee sleepout. This group of students should be proud of themselves. We wish you all the best throughout the remainder of the school year and look forward to working with you next year.
