Soccer, Rafting, and New Friends in Bhutan.

It’s our fourth day in Bhutan and we have already experienced so much. After spending the night at Ugyen Academy, we started off bright and early at 5:30am to begin our day. We participated in the study hour from 5:45 to 6:45, then headed to breakfast and morning classes. Soon after, it was time to say goodbye to our buddies, a bittersweet experience.

In the afternoon, we got the opportunity to go rafting along the Mochu River and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This journey was both adventurous and calm, allowing us to experience fun and risk, but also to reflect on the many events of the past few days.

Later in the day, we were fortunate enough to return to our friends at the Ugyen Academy to watch them play against a national club team in a soccer match. We joined with our buddies and fellow students to cheer on the school, and it was an exciting, loud, and cheerful time. We took photos, exchanged numbers and information with our fellow students so that we could stay in touch. All in all, we know that the friends we made at the Academy will continue to be a part of our lives.
